Many of students are not sure about the criteria of securing rank in CA Examination and most of them are confused about criteria of ranking system in CA examination whether it is CA CPT (Foundation), CA IPCC (Intermediate) or CA Final.
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has clarified this all misconception to its all students by announcements and notifications on time to time basis.
As per the announcement of examination department of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India which was announced on 10th September 2014 (Wednesday) the examination department had declared the following rules and criteria of securing rank in CA examination.

Criteria of Securing Rank in CA CPT

As per the decision taken by examination committee of ICAI on 1st January 2016 rank in common proficiency test has been discontinued with effect from Dec 2015 onwards.
So as per now there are no procedure for rank system in CA CPT. Earlier means before Dec 2015 rank in CA CPT was awarded upto 10th rank on all India basis subject to he/she secured at-least 60 percent marks.

Criteria of Securing Rank in CA IPCC

A student who have secured a minimum of 55 percent marks in aggregate of both group in one sitting without availing any earlier exemption shall be recognized to be a rank holder upto 50th rank. A candidate whose rank is 51th or more will not be awarded a rank holder.
