CA Foundation Course Details

CA Foundation is the first step for the students who want to build their careers in Accounts, Law, Mathematics, and Economics. It is supposed as one of the hardest exams in the World.

WHAT IS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY?

Chartered Accountancy is a domain that offers room for financial management, accounting, tax maintenance, and preserving records. It is a Worldwide professional status across the Globe. It is a designation offered to the individual who has completed a CA course by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). CA deals with numerous commitments to an organization like managing accounts, tax maintenance, etc.

CA FOUNDATION COURSE:

CA Foundation is an entrance-level examination for the students who want to become a Chartered Accountant, offered by ICAI. Earlier this course was also known as Common Proficiency Test (CPT).

  1. IMPORTANT DATES :

Start Date of Registration – 1st day of January or July

Exam Date – In June and December

Result Date – In September and January

  1. ELIGIBILITY :

Before filling the application form you must check the eligibility criteria once. The requirements of ICAI are:

The candidate must have completed their 10th and 12th exams from an acknowledged university or board.

The candidate must have an overall minimum score of 50% in the 12th standard.

There is no age boundary for the CA Foundation Course.

The main subject includes :

Paper 1 : Principles and  Practice of Accounting

Paper 2 : Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting

Section I : Business Laws

Section II : Business Correspondence and Reporting

Paper 3 : Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning and Statistics

Part I : Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning

Part II : Statistics

Paper 4 : Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge

Part I: Business Economics

Part II: Business and Commercial Knowledge

To clear CA Foundation Course, the candidates have to obtain a minimum of 40% in every subject and overall 50% in total.

The paper comprises 100 marks each, 400 marks in total.

  1. MARKING SCHEME :

There is a precise marking scheme for CA Foundation Course Exam:

Total Marks — 100

Time – 3 Hours

For Right Answer — +1

For Wrong Answer — -0.25

Passing Marks – 50%

  1. REGISTRATION PROCESS :

Registering yourself for the CA Foundation course is quite an easy job. Here are the steps which you need to follow while registering :

First Register with the Board of Studies after passing the class X examination.

Filling the form available on ICAI official website.

Appear in class 12thexamination.

Later on, enter all the mandatory information and deposit the online application fees.

After successful payment, download the form and make a print of it for future usage.

  1. DOCUMENTATION :

Once you have completed the form, you need to provide the following documents within 7 days of online registration :

Copy of your Application form

Copy of Admit card/mark sheet of 12th

One colored Photograph

Copy of your ID Proof

Copy of 10th Class Mark sheet

  1. EXAM PATTERN :

CA Foundation Exam has a strict exam pattern. Paper 1 and Paper 2 must be finished off in the first 3 hours and Paper 3 and Paper 4 must be finished off in 2 hours.

  1. ADMIT CARD :

The CA Foundation Admit Card is released by ICAI on its official website before the exam.

Candidates are required to carry their admit cards with them to exam centers for entry.

  1. EXAM CENTRES :

The exam is governed in all the states and cities of India.

Other than this, CA Foundation Exam is also governed in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, Kathmandu, Muscat, Kampala, and Bahrain.

  1. LANGUAGE :

Candidates can choose between Hindi and English as their medium of language for attending the paper.
