Step 1. First you need to prepare some documents which are as follows:

  1. PAN
  2. Adhaar
  3. Bank account details
  4. Form 16
  5. Investments details

Create an id on https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website using your pan card.

If you have already created your id then login into it.

Step 2. Enter your personal information.

Step 3. Enter your salary details. In salary details you have to fill proper breakups of your salary.

Step 4. Provide your deduction and taxable and total income. You don’t need to upload any proof for it but don’t put any wrong figure otherwise if there is any notice will be given by Income Tax Department then you will have to show proper proof. So make sure that the deductions which you are claiming that should be with you

Step 5. Enter your TDS details.

Step 6. Next column is Tax paid and Verification. Excess amount or shortage amount will reflect in it. If you have paid excess amount then you will get refund of it otherwise if you have paid short amount then you have to pay by making a challan and enter details of challan. Enter your bank details and confirm verification.

Step 7. If you have made any donations u/s 80G then enter details.

Step 8. Click on Preview & Submit.

Step 9. Click on Submit and Verify it.
