CA Intermediate Course Details

Entire system of Organization mandates a person who can deal with and supervise their financial system. CA plays a crucial role in retaining all the records of an organization. As there are three phases to become a CA, CA Intermediate is the second phase after CA Foundation. Now, let’s know more about it

CA INTERMEDIATE COURSE

CA Intermediate Course is regarded as the Second level course of Chartered Accountancy. It is also recognized as CA Inter. A candidate must have to clear CA Foundation Exam before entering into CA Intermediate. This Exam is also conducted by ICAI. CA Intermediate comprises of mainly two groups, enclosing four subjects in each one. The Candidate must have to qualify for all four papers to get passed in the group. As failure in any one subject may result in failure in the entire group. So, the Candidate is required to qualify all four subjects individually to qualify a group.

Mode of Examination – Pen and Paper mode

Duration – 8 Months

  1. ELIGIBILITY :

Before filling the application form you must check the eligibility criteria once, which includes :

The candidate should have finished CA Foundation before getting into CA Intermediate.

Or the Candidate should have completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree with at least 50% of the marks.

  1. SYLLABUS :

The syllabus of CA Intermediate includes two groups containing four subjects each

Group 1 :

Accounting

Corporate and Other Laws

Cost and Management Accounting

Taxation

Group 2 :

Advanced Accounting

Financial Management and Economics for Finance

Auditing and Assurance

Enterprise Information System and Strategic Management

  1. MARKING SCHEME :

Time Duration – 3 hours for each Exam

Total Papers – 8, 100 Marks each

Paper Type – Objective Questions with no negative marking

Objective Questions include the questions in 30:70 ratio for Law, Auditing, Taxation, and Finance.

Language – English, and Hindi

  1. REGISTRATION PROCESS :

Here are the steps which you need to follow while registering yourself for CA Intermediate :

Register with Board of Studies for Intermediate Course, study for 8 months, and pass in either one or both the groups.

Visiting the ICAI website and checking out the student panel.

Fill the user id and password and wait for the wait further process.

Once the basic details are Verified, the Candidate must complete their application form and submit the form with the required fees.

Make sure to take a copy of your Application form and submit it to the regional office.

There are two ways for the registration process of CA Intermediate. First, by qualifying CA Foundation and Second, by directly applying after Graduation or Post-graduation.

Direct Entry Route

Candidates who are pursuing their Final year of Graduation or Post-Graduation or have completed their Graduation or Post-Graduation (by any Commerce Specialization) can also apply for CA Intermediate Course on a provisional basis. They can initiate practical training only after submitting the proof of Graduation Examination within six months from the date of Final year Graduation examinations and on successful completion of ICITSS.

Steps under Direct Entry Scheme:-

Register for the Intermediate Course.

Successfully complete four weeks ICITSS before Practical Training.

Register for three years practical training

Come up in Intermediate examinations after nine months of practice.

Qualify the exam.

Register for the Final level after qualifying both the groups of Intermediate.

  1. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED :

After completing the registration, one must submit the following documents :

Copy of 12th/ Graduation Mark Sheet

Candidate’s Proof of Nationality

Candidate’s Copy of Category Certificate
