HOW TO KEEP AWAKE WHILE STUDYING

9 WAYS TO STAY AWAKE WHILE STUDYING

KEEP MOVING

Moving is best thing to get you awake it’s a energy booster.

While you are sleepy walk and study the subject which is mainly contains learning portion.

Aim to take a short break every 30 to 50 minutes to walk, dance, or do a few jumping jacks.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Our bodies respond to environmental signals such as light and darkness. While the relationship between light and sleep is indirect — it’s possible to fall asleep in a well-lit room or to stay awake in darkness, so while studying choose the room light to be bright enough to keep you awake.

SIT UPRIGHT

It might be tempting to get comfortable while studying, but it won’t help you stay awake. Sit upright because its directly connected through the nervous system which responds very quickly while you are in good postures of sitting, helps you to keep awake

AVOID YOUR BEDROOM

But it’s best to avoid studying in any place that you associate with sleep, which could leave you feeling drowsy.

When possible, study somewhere else, such as a library, coffee shop, or a dedicated, well-lit area of your home away from your bedroom. But little bit I disagree upon this topic this is suitable for those who have ample of place to study but those who don’t have single room to study its better make your brain alert and study where you get the place, and keep faith on yourself that you can study at the small place, can adjust yourself because if you are determined about your studies no place can stop you in achieving your goals.

HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE

Fatigue drowsiness sleepiness is just because lack of water intake, drink as plenty of water to keep your body hydrated and alert while you are studying. After 10 mins keep drinking one sip to make your throat and body hydrated and wet.

DON’T FORGET TO EAT (HEALTHY)

What and how much you eat affects your energy levels.

While it may be tempting to treat yourself while studying, it won’t help you stay awake. Sugary snacks and junk food can make your blood sugar spike and then crash, leaving you feeling uncomfortable and overeating feels you drowsy. Instead of that eat after 10 to 15 minutes a little bite of healthy food, to keep yourself active instead of intaking unhealthy things.

MAKE YOUR STUDYING ACTIVE

Reading class notes or a textbook might not be enough to keep you awake, let alone absorb information.

Keep yourself awake — and get the most out of your study sessions — by using active study techniques. To do this, try one or more of the following:

  • Transfer information to a map, diagram, chart, or other visual.
  • Read out loud and make yourself hear what are you reading.
  • Do practice exercises.

GET QUALITY SLEEP

Sleep plays an important role in mood, attention, motivation, and memory — all of which affect learning. It’s no surprise then that poor sleep is associated with poor academic performance.

In fact, making sleep a priority — both in the short- and the long-term — might be the most effective way to stay alert when you’re studying.
